FEMA’s employees are committed to serving our country before, during and after disasters. Every day more than 20,000 emergency managers work to make our nation safer, stronger and more prepared.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live.

CIVIL ORGANIZATION ACTIVE IN DISASTERS

Establish a network of community partners and coalitions with the capability to provide resources that support effective response and quicker recovery from emergencies and disasters.  The East Bronx C.O.A.D will have the ability to establish and maintain communication with network partners as well as selected local organizations, and responding agencies (Citi Emergency Management, NYPD, FDNY, Red Cross, etc.).

FOOD BANK FOR NEW YORK CITY

Food Bank For New York City is New York City's major hunger-relief organization. Our approach combines community engagement, empowerment, & nutrition across all 5 boroughs. $1 Provides 5 Meals. Feeding NYC Since 1983. We Feed All 5 Boroughs.

CITY HARVEST

City Harvest rescues perfectly good, nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it for free to New Yorkers experiencing hunger.

SOMOS COMMUNITY CARE

SOMOS Community Care is a network of over 2,500 culturally competent healthcare providers who share the culture and language of the communities they serve. Their network cares for more than 1 million patients across New York’s underserved communities, connecting individuals to high-quality healthcare close to home. It includes primary care physicians, specialists, behavioral health providers, pharmacies, and community-based organizations working together to support both medical and social needs through a physician-led, value-based care model.

We make it easy for you to access farm fresh food, community gardens, and education opportunities across the five boroughs.

TEN MILE FARM FOUNDATION

The Tenmile Farm Foundation provides emergency food programs with access to food supply and operational support. Or 100 acres farm is in upstate New York.

MANNA OF LIFE MINISTRIES

Manna of Life Ministries, Inc. is a not-for-profit faith based program dedicated to serving the homeless and destitute. Their goal is to address their immediate hunger needs and ultimately, to empower them to reverse their current situation.
